I started recording music for Star Card as a solo project during an intense, long and lonely grieving period. When I began to share the music I was making online, I received encouragement from friends and a few strangers that what I was making felt important. Sharing my recordings helped me feel less alone and offered a place where I could still share what I was going through and thinking about without being explicit about what had happened, weaving songs into fictions about characters similar to me but not me. Now, Star Card is a full band that's been blessed by a rotation of friends. We've been working on new music, and play shows regularly in NYC, Brooklyn and Queens. Star Card was formed as a way to feel less alone, more brave and yet more safe. If you listen, I hope that it helps you feel the same. <3
